This Year’s Topic

Depression: The Hidden Affliction

Although it’s getting better, there’s still much confusion about mental illness in the church and in society. This series of addresses will provide biblical and practical guidance to navigate this perplexing and often hidden affliction.

  1. Causes of Depression:Depression is a bewildering experience, making it difficult to figure out what caused it. We will take a holistic biblical approach to identifying the causes of depression.
  2. Cures for Depression: Is depression curable? If so, what cures has God provided? How do we discern the role of faith and/or medicine in the treatment of depression.
  3. Caring for the Depressed:Depression takes a toll on the family and friends of the depressed. How can we care for the caregivers so that they can care better for their depressed loved one?
